What this site is
This site is a guide to SeniorMatch for Canadians over 50: what it costs, who is actually using it here, whether it is safe, and how it compares with the other big services aimed at the same age group. Every page leads with a direct answer, then backs that answer with the numbers behind it and the date each one was checked.
We do not leave out the parts that make SeniorMatch look worse. Low ratings, billing complaints and thin member counts in some provinces are covered here in as much detail as the good news, because a guide that only shows one side is not much of a guide.
Where the numbers come from
Every number on this site comes from one of four places, and each one carries its own date. SeniorMatch's own prices were read 16 September 2026, on the upgrade pages inside a real SeniorMatch member account, not from a marketing page built to look attractive. The Canadian App Store, Google Play and Trustpilot were read 24 September 2026, for ratings, review counts and the prices SeniorMatch lists through Apple and Google.
Public records make up the third source: the Bank of Canada's exchange rate for 22 September 2026, used to convert SeniorMatch's American dollar prices into Canadian ones, alongside the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre and the company's own registration filings. The fourth source is our own count of SeniorMatch's Canadian members, captured 21 September 2026 and described in full below.
How the member count was made, and its limits
The count worked like this: the newest Canadian profiles SeniorMatch showed a Canadian member account, sorted by join date, read at a human pace. The account doing the counting was a woman's account seeking men, so the counts describe the men's side, so every member figure on this site describes the men's side of SeniorMatch's Canadian membership, not the site as a whole.
Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia are too large to read end to end, so their figures come from that newest-profile sample rather than a full count. Alberta and the smaller provinces are small enough that every visible profile could be read to the end of the list instead, which is why those figures are exact rather than estimated. One limit applies to the whole count: the list only shows members active in roughly the last 180 days, so a member who joined and then went quiet earlier than that would not appear at all. The national figure of about 1,450 is an estimate built from the provinces counted in full, not a number SeniorMatch publishes itself.
How often it is checked
Every page on this site shows the date its facts were last checked, right beside the figures themselves rather than in a separate policy document. That date is there so you can judge for yourself whether a price or a rating is likely to still be accurate.
We check the whole site again every month: prices, app store ratings, complaint counts and the member figures above. When something has changed, we update the number and move the date forward with it, rather than leaving an old figure standing under a new date.
French
This site is in English only for now. French pages covering the same provinces are planned but not live yet.
SeniorMatch's own Canadian App Store listing gives a useful data point here too: it shows the app's language as English, so the site you would actually join is not in French either, at least not through that listing.
What this site does not do
This site has no forms, no accounts and no way to collect anything about you. There is nowhere here to type a password, an email address or a payment card, and nothing you do on these pages is saved anywhere we control.
