Ontario carries the largest share of SeniorMatch's Canadian membership by a wide margin. Of the 499 newest Canadian profiles we counted on 21 September 2026, from a woman's account, so this describes the men's side, 163 listed Ontario, 32.7% of the whole sample. Scaling that share against our estimate of roughly 1,450 Canadian men visible on the site at any time points to about 470 members in Ontario, an estimate built by scaling a sample, not a full count of the province.

Our count on 21 September 2026: the newest Canadian profiles SeniorMatch showed a Canadian member account, sorted by join date, read at a human pace. The account was a woman's account seeking men, so the counts describe the men's side.
The chart above is the honest way to read that number. Ontario, Quebec, British Columbia and Alberta together account for 88.0% of every newest Canadian profile we have counted, so the other provinces and territories split what is left between them, and Ontario's own 32.7% is the largest single slice of that split. A sample of 499 profiles drawn from a whole country still leaves real room for error at the provincial level, so treat the 470 figure as a rough order of magnitude for comparing Ontario against a neighbouring province, not as a membership roster you could count against.

Toronto, Ottawa and the rest
The newest-profile sample names a handful of Ontario cities directly. Toronto leads with 18 profiles, followed by Mississauga and London at 7 each, then Hamilton and Ottawa at 6 each, and Cornwall with 5. Toronto, Mississauga and Hamilton sit in the southern cluster around Lake Ontario; London, the Ontario city of that name rather than the one in England, is further west; Ottawa and Cornwall are both in Eastern Ontario, hours from the others by car.
Add those six together and they still fall well short of the 163 Ontario profiles in our sample, so most of Ontario's listed members are outside the six cities named above, scattered across the rest of the province rather than clustered in a short list. Toronto alone is only a fraction of the province's total: even the largest single city on this list is a small slice of 163. If your own city is not on that list, a reader in, say, Thunder Bay is not missing from SeniorMatch; that reader is simply not one of the six places a single day's sample happened to surface most often. How active they are
A member count means little if nobody behind it is actually using the site. Of the 163 Ontario profiles in our sample, 94 had signed in within the last 30 days, 57.7%, a shade above the 57.1% we found across the whole newest-profile sample. The median age on those Ontario profiles was 66.
Verification tells a narrower story. 38.7% of Ontario's newest profiles carried SeniorMatch's photo-verified badge, close to the 34.7% rate we found nationally and still well under half. That check confirms a face matches the photos on an account; it says nothing about background, income or anything else a profile claims, so a verified badge is one small piece of reassurance, not the whole picture. The province with the largest share of the membership is also the province where the company itself keeps its paperwork, a coincidence worth naming plainly rather than treating as either a red flag or an endorsement.
That Ontario address does not mean an Ontario member is billed in Canadian dollars. Searching a big province
SeniorMatch's Location filter is a two-way switch: Anywhere or Living in. Left on Anywhere, search pulls in members from anywhere at all, including profiles nowhere near your province. Switching it to Living in opens a country and region picker; choose Canada, then Ontario, or narrow further to your own city, and the results shift to people who put your own area on their profile rather than the whole world.
The cities above cluster two ways: Toronto, Mississauga and Hamilton sit close together inside the Greater Toronto Area, or GTA; London, Ottawa and Cornwall sit hours away in different directions. Northern Ontario is not on that list at all, which does not mean nobody there uses the site; it means a province-wide search puts GTA activity in front of you first. Narrowing Location to your own city, not just Ontario, is what actually corrects for that.
There is a second, narrower toggle: Near My Location, a switch on the Advanced tab, off by default. On the account we tested, Anywhere was where the main filter sat until we changed it ourselves, and SeniorMatch has not said whether every new signup starts the same way, so check your own account's setting rather than assume it already favours Ontario.
