Who runs this site
SeniorMatch Canada is run by a SeniorMatch partner and earns a commission when readers register through its links. A partner is a separate business that earns money only when someone reads a page here and then joins SeniorMatch through the link on it. SeniorMatch does not write, edit or approve anything on this site, and the people who run it are not SeniorMatch staff.
The arrangement is easy to state in full: we write about SeniorMatch, we link to its registration page, and SeniorMatch pays a commission on the people who join through that link. Nothing about that arrangement touches your account, your messages or anything else you do once you have joined.
How it earns money
Registering is free. We earn a commission if you register through this link; your price is the same. That commission is the entire business model behind this site. There is no other source of revenue, no fee added for reading a page, and no markup on anything SeniorMatch itself charges.
Because the commission only arrives if someone registers, we have a plain financial reason to want you to join. We are stating that here rather than leaving you to guess at it, since it is the one fact most likely to change how you read everything else on this site.
What that changes
The join links on this site point to SeniorMatch's own registration page and carry a tracking code that tells SeniorMatch the visit came from here. That code is the only thing the commission changes about the link itself: it is the same registration form, the same account, the same SeniorMatch you would reach by typing the address in directly.
The price does not change either. SeniorMatch sets its own prices, in its own account area, for every visitor regardless of how they arrived. Clicking a link from this site does not add a surcharge, and it does not open up a lower price.
What it does not change
Once you register, this site has no further part in what happens. We do not see your account, your messages, your photos or anything you pay SeniorMatch after that point. There is no login here that connects to your SeniorMatch account, and no way for us to look at it even if we wanted to.
This site also has no forms of its own. There is nowhere on it to type a password, an email address or a payment card. Every account action, from registering to cancelling, happens on SeniorMatch's own website, not here.
Why the bad news stays in
The commission does not change what gets published here. Low ratings and specific complaints, each dated, appear on the SeniorMatch reviews page exactly as SeniorMatch's own reviewers wrote them.
We keep that material in even though it does not help the commission. A page that only repeats good news about the service it earns money from is not one worth trusting, so the complaints stay, with their dates attached.
How the facts are checked
Every number, price and quote on this site carries the date it was checked, next to the figure itself rather than buried in a separate policy document. That date is the honest answer to whether a page is still accurate: if it looks old, treat it as a starting point rather than today's price.
We check the whole site again every month: prices, ratings, member counts and anything else that can move. When a figure changes, the date beside it changes too, so a page never quietly goes stale while still claiming to be current.
